Those Ugly Orange Construction Cones…What to do?
I live in a duplex and some construction guys came to fix the sidewalk right outside my place. This was about over six months ago, and they just left those orange ugly construction cones outside my house along with that barrier tape. If they are returning, I don’t know. I’m thinking I should file a city complaint at least for them to come and get rid of the cones.
Problem is that I don’t know if it was the city or a private construction company who just left this (since there was housing development near my place but they just halted it).
Should I just throw away those cones? I’m not “breaking” any laws right? Problem is that they left so many cones that they won’t fit in my garbage can and I don’t think I should make the effort to take them to a dump. The company should get them.
How do I get rid of them? Should I call the city?
Yes, best thing to do at this point is just call the city. The dept is probably called “Roads and sewer” or something like that. They should have someone that can swing by and pick those up for you. By now they would be considered abandoned (if job is complete) by whoever left them but do not remove them yourself because the project (though stopped) might not be completed – let the city make that determination.
