Connecting LP Patio Grill Directly to LP House Supply?
My house is fueled with LP from a 500gal burried tank. There is a high pressure regulator at the tank and a second (low pressure) regulator at the entrance to the house. The gas pressure after the second regulator is about 11 inches of water. I’ve added an LP line from the house to the patio, and I’d like to use this to fuel my new patio grill.
My LP grill (Weber Genesis E-310) comes with LP oriffice, regularor and connection to an LP bottle already in place. I’d like to remove the single unir regulator and bottle connector, and connect my house supply directly to the grill’s LP oraffice (assuming that I can find a suitable hose and fittings to do this).
Before I get too involved:
Any safety or installation precautions doing this?
Is the hose connection to the oraffice generally a “standard” size?
Will flange screw commections wrapped with white joint tape do the trick?
Just be sure you use CGA fittings, do a leak test, and make sure you install a shut off valve, both at the grill and at the tank.
