Brass Pipe

What can be used to glue vinyl tubing to brass?
Incredibly, the stuff I have called “vinyl glue” doesn’t seem to do the trick. It looks like the glue has dried, but it doesn’t stop the end of the tubing from sliding off the brass fitting.
What can I do to make the tubing stay on the brass pipe? It’s a tight fit but there’s only about 1/2″ of threading so the tubing keeps sliding off. Not only do I need the tubing to stay on the threading, but I need to fill in the threading so it’s absolutely airtight.
Since the brass fitting is so short I don’t know of a clamp that will clamp them together. Besides, I’d still need something between the tubing and the threading to keep air from escaping through the threads.
How about a jubilee clip that would be a good method although you don’t mention the diameter of the tube if it is around 3/4 of an inch this would work well with silicon sealant, or if you are in the UK then try sticks like sh~t fom Screwfix good luck.
